Man shot during ambush outside Miami-Dade County home

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A 25-year-old man was shot in his car after pulling up in front of his northeast Miami-Dade County home Thursday afternoon, police said.

The shooting occurred about 12:30 p.m. at 19633 NE 12th Place.

Miami-Dade police said Raphael Jean-Baptiste and his girlfriend were returning home when two men walked up to his Nissan Maxima and opened fire.

Jean-Baptiste was shot multiple times in his upper body. His girlfriend was not injured.

Relatives drove Jean-Baptiste to Aventura Hospital. He was later transferred to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood. Police said he is listed in stable condition.

Police said the shooters got away in a gold Toyota Camry driven by another man.
