Broward Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Gina Carter said a man walked into the store about 30 minutes before closing time and asked to see a two-toned Rolex watch with diamonds on the faceplate, valued at almost $4,000, that was in the store's display window.

The man spoke with the clerk for a few minutes, handling the watch and then handing it back to the clerk. As he was leaving the store, he abruptly stopped by the door, turned back towards the clerk and snatched the watch from her hands.

He ran from the store and headed north through the parking lot.

Deputies are trying to identify the thief. Anyone who recognizes the man is asked to call the BSO at 954-321-4274.
