Man sought in fatal North Miami triple shooting arrested, police say

Cops: Aren Lenton charged with 2 counts of murder, attempted murder

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. ā€“ A man wanted in connection to a triple shooting that left two people dead and another person hurt was taken into custody Friday, North Miami police said.

The shooting happened at 1 a.m. April 12 in the area of Northwest 127th Street and Northwest Eighth Avenue.

Police arrived to find three people had been shot. Police said two of the victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

The third victim suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was taken to Jackson Ryder Trauma Center in stable condition.

On Friday, North Miami police detectives, with the help of the U.S. Marshals Service, took Aren Evans Lenton, 23, into custody. Police said Lenton is charged with two counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder.

North Miami police said the investigation is ongoing.
