Man spends birthday behind bars for child porn charges

Juan Sebastian Chavez, 24, ordered held on $100,000 bond

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A 24-year-old man is spending his birthday behind bars after downloading multiple images and video containing child pornography, police said.

Juan Sebastian Chavez appeared in Broward County bond court on Thursday where he was ordered held on $100,000 bond.

Fort Lauderdale police said Chavez downloaded child pornography from both his work and personal computer. They said Chavez also downloaded multiple beheading videos.

Chavez was ordered to surrender his passport and stay off of the Internet.

He must also stay in the tri-county area following his release, may not go to an airport or port and must wear a GPS monitor.
