Man steals cellphone, purse from woman at Miami bus stop

Police: Sansha Eugene, 23, held onto passenger side door as thief drove away

MIAMI ā€“ The Miami-Dade Police Deparment has released a sketch of a man officers say robbed a woman while she was sitting at a bus stop on Northeast 111th Street off Fourth Avenue.

According to police, the man snatched 23-year-old Sansha Eugene's cellphone from her hand while she was sitting on a bench.

Eugene chased after the man and held on to the passenger side door while he tried to drive away in a dark green Chevrolet Tahoe. Police said she was able to pepper spray the man through an open window, but he continued driving.

Police said the thief also managed to snatch Eugene's purse, which was dangling from her shoulder as she held onto the car. Eventually, Eugene wasn't able to hold on any longer and fell into the street.

Eugene was taken to the hospital with a broken collarbone, sprained left foot and road rash.
