BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – A man who was involved in an accident Monday afternoon was trapped in his car .
According to Florida Highway Patrol, when the man's vehicle slid off the side of Interstate 95 south, just before the Sample Road exit, it hit a tree, making it difficult to get the man out. However, the man remained conscious and talking while crews worked to remove him from the vehicle.

The man has been transported to Broward Health North in serious condition, but did not sustain life-threatening injuries.
The accident caused traffic to back up on I-95, but all lanes are now open.
