PLANTATION, Fla. – A man used a pair of scissors as a weapon after an employee tried to stop him from stealing cellphones at a T-Mobile store in Plantation, police said.
The theft was caught on surveillance video Tuesday afternoon at the Broward Boulevard location.
Plantation police Detective Philip Toman said the man tried to cut the security cord that anchors the cellphones to the display wall. When an employee noticed and tried to stop him, a struggle ensued and the man lunged at him with the scissors.
The man got away with three cellphones.
