Man wanted for trying to run over cop

HIALEAH, Fla. – Police are looking for a man who tried running over a Hialeah police officer in a stolen minivan.

Oscar Perez is wanted for aggravated assault of a police officer.

Police say Perez tried running over a Hialeah police officer who attempted to stop him at E. 8th Avenue and 25th Street on Friday night. The officer then shot at Perez.

Perez crashed into two vehicles two blocks away, injuring people inside them, and then ran off, police say. Perez left a loaded firearm behind.

Perez has been arrested at least 12 times for drug charges, prostitution, lewd and lascivious acts on a child, burglary, loitering and prowling, and fleeing and eluding, police say.

Perez is considered armed and dangerous.
