Man wearing mask, gloves robs Shell gas station in southwest Miami-Dade

$750 taken in robbery

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Police continue to search for a man who robbed a Shell gas station at gunpoint.

The robbery was reported just before 8 p.m. June 27 at 7460 SW 40th St. in Miami-Dade County.

Police said surveillance video showed a man wearing a mask and gloves arrive at the convenience store in a newer-model Chevrolet Camaro.

Police said the robber pointed a handgun at the cashier and a customer, and ordered the employee to open the cash register.

Police said the cashier complied with the man's request. Police said the thief reached over the counter and took the cash.

According to authorities, the robber stole additional money from a drop box as he was leaving the store.

Police said a total of $750 was taken.

The thief left in the Camaro that was being driven by an accomplice.

No injuries were reported.
