Omar Marquez Quinones caught on camera breaking windows at red light

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A 19-year-old man has been arrested after a cellphone video obtained exclusively by Local 10 News captured him smashing a car window during a road-rage incident earlier this month.

The victim told Miami-Dade police she was traveling southbound on South Dixie Highway, approaching Southwest 104th Street, when Omar Marquez Quinones jerked his vehicle in her direction in an attempt to change lanes.

Marquez Quinones then became enraged, the victim said, and began to swerve, attempting to hit her vehicle. When the victim attempted to allow Marquez Quinones to enter her lane, he refused to do so, a police report said.

When the pair reached a traffic light at Southwest 132nd Street and South Dixie Highway, Marquez Quinones, who was shirtless,  got out, pulled out a baseball bat and began to strike her driver’s side door yelling,"You think you can cut me off (expletive)?"

Marquez Quinones then began to strike the rear passenger side window, shattering it on impact, police said. He then struck the rear window, shattering that as well.

He then got into his vehicle and drove off.

Marquez Quinones was arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and criminal mischief.

He appeared in court Thursday and was ordered to remain in jail in lieu of $8,500 bail. He will be placed under house arrest and fitted with a GPS ankle monitor if he posts bail.
