It was Easter Sunday. And the nationwide "smoke-out" started at 4:20 p.m.

Thousands were lighting up joints at the Denver 420 rally in Civic Center Park.Denver police tweeted there were 130 arrests at the event including 92 for marijuana-consumption citations.

In San Francisco the rally to legalize marijuana was at the Golden Gate Park's Hippie Hill. And since Colorado is the first state in the nation to legalize recreational marijuana, this week the party will last all week.

Public consumption is still banned, but that didn't stop the posts on social media.
