MEDLEY, Fla. – The Medley Police Department is warning drivers to avoid the intersection of 116th Way and South River Drive for the next two days.
The intersection is closed to traffic because of poles down in the roadway, which was caused by a hit-and-run driver on Monday.

This will impact commuters trying to enter the turnpike. They will be detoured to the Okeechobee Road and US 2nd entrance.
Florida Power and Light workers will be righting the poles and restringing the lines for the next two days.
Police will be marking the area with detour signs.
