Melissa White lied to investigators about home-invasion robbery, deputies say

Florida Keys woman faces felony charge of making false report to law enforcement

KEY WEST, Fla. – A 22-year-old Florida Keys woman was arrested Tuesday for lying to investigators about a home-invasion robbery last year, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

Melissa White gave false information to deputies and detectives on more than one occasion, sheriff's spokeswoman Becky Herrin said.

The crime took place May 27 on Grassy Key. During the robbery, shots were fired and one man was wounded.

Several suspects were arrested in connection with the crime, which deputies determined was drug-related.

White faces a felony charge of making a false report to a law enforcement officer.
