Azarcon was the mother of an 8-year-old daughter and was in the United States for business for a Philippines-based development company, according to an online obituary.

Loved ones were seen embracing and talking outside the funeral home at 1495 Northwest 17th Avenue.

Mourners from around the world posted comments on Azarcon's obituary page.

"You were always so optimistic and full of life," posted Reyma Hilaga, who wrote that she was from Christchurch, New Zealand.

Another mourner from England commented on how Azarcon was "so young."

Opa-locka police are investigating whether Corporal Sergio Perez pursued driver Willie Dumel the wrong way on I-95 after he allegedly fled from a traffic stop.

Pursuing a suspect against the flow of traffic is against department policy.

Azarcon's remains will be cremated and returned to her native Philippines.
