Men struggle to load stolen AC unit onto pickup truck

Surveillance video captures burglary outside Benzer Pharmacy

TAMARAC, Fla. – Broward County sheriff's detectives are searching for two men who struggled to load an air conditioning unit into the back of a pickup truck after ripping it from the wall behind a Tamarac pharmacy.

Surveillance video captured the men Sept. 25 cutting the AC unit from the wall behind Benzer Pharmacy.

The video shows the men push, shove and tip the unit for about 15 minutes in an effort to load it into the truck.

After appearing to get tired and frustrated at their lack of success, the men manage to knock over the unit and push it onto the bed of the truck.

"It doesn't really weigh that much. We asked our AC guy (and) he says it weighs 150 pounds," pharmacy technician Natasha Barrios said. "They couldn't lift it. They are younger guys. They couldn't lift it. They shouldn't have taken it anyways."

Detectives described the men as being in their mid-20s or early 30s. They are believed to be between 5 feet 8 inches tall to 6 feet tall. One of the men has a goatee and medium-length wavy hair. The other has a crew cut hairstyle and is clean shaven.

Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
