Police questioned 2 in connection with teen's murder

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – A SWAT situation on Miami Beach ended late Wednesday after police said two men who are persons of interest in a murder case barricaded themselves inside a home.

Officers approached the men shortly before 8 p.m. to question them about Robert Lakatos, a teenager who was robbed and fatally shot two weeks ago on the boardwalk at 79th Street. The men ran from officers and into a home near 80th Street and Crespi Blvd., according to a police spokesperson.

SWAT officers, K9 officers, and a police helicopter were deployed.

Shortly before 10:30 p.m., the two men surrendered to police, as well as three others who were inside the home with them.

All five were taken into custody and were questioned.
