MIAMI -

Miami Fire Department was called to a house at 3094 NW 13th Street Sunday just before 4:30 p.m. after reports of a house fire.

Firefighters looked for victims, but only found a pit bull inside the home that they were able to save.

Firefighters quickly put the fire out.

After an investigation, officials found the cause of the fire was a result of an electrical overload in the front part of the home. Officials said numerous items and materials were piled around the cord which caused the fire to rapidly ignite and spread.

Investigators are testing the plants that were removed from the home to confirm whether they are marijuana.
