Miami Beach police arrest man accused of biting, beating 10-year-old stepson

Glenn Thor Larsen, 36, is former bartender at Churchill's Pub in Little Haiti

MIAMI – A 10-year-old boy told Miami Beach police that his stepdad beat and bit him, after he told him he hadn't finished his homework. The boy suffered redness, swelling and bruising on his face and thigh, Miami Beach police said.

Miami Beach police arrested Glen Larsen, 36, Thursday. He told Miami Beach police that he hurt the boy, because he had difficulties with anger management.

Larsen picked up the boy from an after-school day care. When the boy got in the car, Larsen asked him if he had finished his homework. The boy's negative answer sparked his rage.

The boy told police Larsen pulled over to the side of the road. He then used his hand and fist to hit the left side of his face and torso. After beating the boy, Larsen drove to the house. When the boy did not get off the car, Larsen began to hit him again, and even bit him on the upper left thigh.

Larsen is facing two counts of torture and charges of child abuse, aggravated assault, causing great bodily harm, and resisting arrest without violence. His bond was set at $21,000.

Larsen had been drinking the day before the beating. The former bartender at Churchill's Pub is one of many in the local music scene -- punk, rock and metal – who were nostalgic, after Dave Daniels sold the bar in Miami's Little Haiti.

On Tuesday, Larsen posted on Facebook: "Most likely having my last beer or two at Churchills under the supervision of Dave Daniels and Nicky. Thank you for the last twenty years of doing whatever the f--- we wanted... Its been a hell of a ride."
