Miami crime ring believed to be involved in day care vehicle break-ins

Thieves target parents taking, picking up children from Ebenezer Day Care in Miami, police say

MIAMI – Miami police have released a new image of a man believed to be involved in four recent vehicle break-ins outside a day care.

The incidents were reported June 17, July 24, July 28 and July 31 at the Ebenezer Day Care at 4111 SW Fourth St.

Police said the break-ins have been captured on surveillance video, and they believe that a group of people may be part of an organized ring that has targeted other day cares in the area.

The latest surveillance image to be released shows one of the culprits making a purchase with a credit card that was stolen from one of the vehicles.

In the latest incident, a man stole a woman's purse from her passenger seat and left in a silver 4-door car, possibly a Dodge Dart.

Anyone with information about the break-ins is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
