Miami-Dade police officers go pink

MIAMI – There's a new badge of honor at the Miami-Dade Police Department this month, and it'll tickle you pink.

In honor of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the department is issuing pink badges to its officers to wear.

The badges are optional, but many have already pinned the colorful accessory of authority to their uniforms.

Along with the badges, the police department also has a few pink patrol cars out on the streets.

Badges and cars are just one of many Miami-Dade items that have gone pink this month, including busses, county vehicles and garbage trucks.
