Miami firefighter killed in drive-by shooting remembered by family, friends

Chadrick Davis has been a firefighter for 2 years

MIAMI ā€“ Firefighters paid their final respects to one of their own on SaturdayĀ  during a service at New Birth Baptist Church.

Miami firefighterĀ Chadrick Davis, 23, was shot and killed last weekend in a drive-by shooting while attending a wake.

Davis had been with Miami Fire Rescue for two years and had a promising career ahead of him. Ā 

"Great person, a young man, 23 years-old, recently had a birthday. He comes from a great family," former Miami Fire ChiefĀ Maurice Kemp, who is Davisā€™ godfather, said.

Davis was killed beside Sir Ernest Williams, 22, while attending a wake in the 4300 block of NorthwestĀ  31st Court.

Police are investigating the shooting, and anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.Ā
