Miami Gardens man shot, killed in front of girlfriend's children

Ashley Waldon says she found James Hall with gunshot wound to head

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – A Miami Gardens man was shot and killed in front of his girlfriend's children Sunday night.

Ashley Waldon identified the victim as James Hall.

Waldon said Hall, 42, was returning to their home at 1621 NW 175th Terrace in Miami Gardens about 11 p.m. Sunday with two of her kids. She said as many as four men appeared out of the dark and shot Hall as he was walking inside the home.

She heard the gunshots, went outside and found Hall lying in the front yard with a gunshot wound to the head.

Her kids, ages 12 and 14, were still in the car.

"My kids are traumatized," Waldon told Local 10 News.

Hall had a troubled past with arrests on charges of trafficking, cocaine possession and carrying concealed firearms. But Waldon maintains Hall had cleaned up his life a few years ago and was committed to being a full-time father and family man.
