Miami Gardens men indicted on fraud conspiracy charges

Godfrey Teekah Jr., Phillip Collins had hundreds of names, Social Security numbers, indictment alleges

MIAMI – Two Miami Gardens men have been indicted on fraud conspiracy charges after their 2013 arrest while boarding a flight at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

Godfrey Teekah Jr., 28, and Phillip Collins, 29, made their first appearances Tuesday in federal court.

Federal prosecutors said Teekah and Collins had more than 326 names, Social Security numbers and dates of birth of other people when they were stopped while trying to board a flight in February 2013.

Prosecutors said the men also had nine debit cards in the names of other people.

Both suspects face up to 17 years in prison if convicted on all counts.
