KEY COLONY BEACH, Fla. -

A Miami man was arrested in the Florida Keys after surveillance video helped to identify him as the suspect in two vehicle burglaries, authorities said.

Nelson Gonzalez, 40, was arrested Sunday in Key Colony Beach. He is accused of smashing the window of two cars in the parking lot of the Island Fish Company in Marathon and stealing items inside.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, Gonzalez was seen on video exiting a Dodge Charger next to one of the cars that was burglarized. The car's window was smashed and an iPad Mini stolen from inside. The window of another car in the lot was also smashed, and the owner discovered that her wallet had been taken.

An alert was issued for the Dodge Charger seen in the surveillance video. It was found across the street from Key Colony Beach City Hall with a flat tire.

A woman in the Charger told deputies her boyfriend was getting a new tire for the car. When he returned, he matched the description of the burglary suspect and was arrested. An iPad Mini and the wallet were found inside the car.

Gonzalez was arrested on two counts of vehicle burglary and grand theft.
