MIAMI - The Miami Marlins introduced Mike Redmond as their new manager on Friday.
Redmond was hired Thursday to replace Ozzie Guillen, who was fired after one season with the team.
Redmond played catcher for the Marlins from 1998-2004. The 41-year-old Redmond made his MLB debut with the Marlins back in 1998 and played on the 2003 team that won the franchise's second World Series.
Since retiring as a player in 2010, Redmond spent the last two years managing Class A teams in the Toronto Blue Jays' system.
