The U.S. Attorney's Office for Nebraska have indicted two Florida men on federal charges of conspiring to steal beef and pork products from Omaha meat processors.
Federal prosecutors said Thursday that Jose Gonzalo-Paulette, 25, and Guillermo Riol, 39, both of Miami, are accused of conspiring with others to steal more than $330,000 worth of meat from Nebraska Beef and Quality Pork International plants.
Prosecutors said the men used the identity of a legitimate trucking company to bid on hauling loads of meat from the Omaha plants. Authorities said the men picked up the loads, which never made it to their destinations and were never located.
The men are scheduled to appear in Omaha's federal court July 3. Each faces up to 29 years in federal prison if convicted.
