MIAMI – A Miami police officer assisting with a traffic crash on Interstate 95 was hit by another driver Thursday morning while in her patrol car.
This happened in the northbound express lanes about a half-mile south of Northwest 62nd Street shortly after 3 a.m.

According to police, the Miami police cruiser was blocking traffic in the express lanes when a woman in a white car hit the cruiser. The officer was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
An officer said the woman who hit the officer was also taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
The crash blocked the express lanes before State Road 112 while the crash is cleared.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating the cause of the crash.
