Miami ranks 3rd among roach-infested U.S. cities

MIAMI ā€“ Congrats, Miami. Ā When it comes to roaches, we're among the best in the country!

According to a new survey, the Magic City ranks 3rdĀ among U.S. cities for roach infestation.

The data shows that almost 40 percent of Miami residents have reported roach activity in their homes, ranking just behind New Orleans and Houston.

The American Housing Survey (AHS) collected its data by asking residents whether they have seen evidence of cockroaches, rats, and mice.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, the city could be on its way to the top as Bloomberg reports Miami's roach infestation went up 6 percent from 2013 to 2015.

The good news (kinda) is that Miami "only" ranks 24th in the country as far as rats are concerned. Only about 4 percent of residents have reported rats in their household.

Miami was the only Florida city listed in the rankings, so at least we're number one in the Sunshine State!
