Miami-Dade judge presides over hearing for fellow vacationer

Judge previously oversaw the bond hearing of a former classmate

MIAMI ā€“ Miami-Dade County Judge Mindy Glazer seems to be living out a courtroom version of "This Is Your Life" on a daily basis.

Just weeks after gaining national attention for presiding over a former middle school classmate's bond court hearing, Glazer once again came face-to-face with a familiar person from her past on Monday.

This time it was a passenger from a cruise that Glazer had recently taken to the Caribbean.

Alon Glenn was appearing before Glazer in an extradition hearing on a fraud charge from Georgia.

Glazer quickly remembered that Glenn was picked up after disembarking from the Carnival Breeze cruise ship when it arrived in South Florida.

Glazer was vacationing on the ship with her family at the same time as Glenn.

"You had a nice cruise?" Glazer asked an astounded Glenn. "I'm glad to be back at work. I had to watch four kids."

Glenn asked if the judge had seen him participating in the poolside dance contest, to which Glazer replied that she had.

"It was a fun time, huh?" said Glazer.

Glenn requested to receive bond, but was denied as the case is from Georgia.

Glazer seemed to side with Glenn, saying that if he had wanted to flee, he could have done so in the ports of call visited by the ship.

"If he wanted to flee, he would fled in, what was it, St. Maarten's, St. Kitts, Puerto Rico?" said Glazer, naming the ships' travel destinations. "But he came back."

Glazer's reunion back on July 2, 2015, was more bittersweet as she was forced to issue bond for Arthur Booth, a well-liked former classmate of hers at Nautilus Middle School who has been charged with burglary and grand theft.
