Miramar police investigate possible accidental shooting

Man taken to Memorial Regional Hospital by friends

MIRAMAR, Fla. – Miramar police are investigating a shooting that sent a man to Memorial Regional Hospital, but a spokeswoman said it appears the shooting was accidental.

Police were called to the shooting Tuesday in the 6100 block of Southwest 34th Street.

The victim was driven to Memorial Regional Hospital by friends before officers arrived, police spokeswoman Natasha Richardson said. The extent of his injuries were not immediately known.

Although preliminary reports showed the man was accidentally shot, police continue to investigate, Richardson said.
