Lt. Doug Brant then blocked traffic with his car, picked up the boy, brought him to a nearby Pollo Tropical and called police.

After the boy's picture was broadcast on the news, a person called to say they had seen him wandering around before in the Boynton Landings community.

Boynton Beach Police were able to locate the boy's mother and her boyfriend. The mom told detectives she had no idea the boy was gone.

They then arrested Kathy Reed, 24.  She is charged with child neglect without great harm.

The boy will be placed in the custody of the Department of Children & Families.
