MIAMI -

Hurricanes, shark attacks and tornadoes were some of the reasons why Florida was named the "scariest state" for real estate buyers.

Staff from Estately, a website that focuses on real estate, compiled statistics on about a dozen of the most common fears. Clowns, dentists and meth labs were included. Fraudulent contractors were not.

"The most dangerous state in America is the most likely place to experience a real life Sharknado, Or even a Sharkicane," the site's blog said.  "Both are sometimes accompanied by Sharkning, which is terrifying."

The list concluded that Florida placed first on hurricanes, tornadoes and shark attacks. It also placed third on lightning and fifth on spiders.

Georgia, Texas, Louisiana and Alabama were included in the top five scariest states.
