Nordstrom to hold off on Christmas decorations

Department store won't 'deck the halls' until after Thanksgiving

Christmas won't come early to one popular department store.

Nordstrom says it will uphold its tradition of not decorating its stores until after Thanksgiving.

ABC News says the Seattle-based retailer will also keep all of its locations closed on the Thanksgiving holiday, resisting the temptation to lure shoppers with deals the night before Black Friday.

Nordstrom stated its case for a tinsel-free Thanksgiving in a sign captured by @CristobalSGB on Twitter. The sign says the the store won't be "decking our halls" until Friday and that they enjoy the idea of celebrating one holiday at a time.

ABC reports that in Nordstrom's 100-year history, the store has never decorated for the Christmas holiday before Thanksgiving.
