KEY WEST, Fla. – A Monroe County sheriff's correction officer was arrested over the weekend on DUI charges.
Joseph Silva, 20, was arrested Saturday by the Florida Highway Patrol on charges of driving under the influence with serious bodily injury and driving under the influence with property damage.

Details of what led up to the arrest were not immediately released.
Silva has worked for the Monroe County Sheriff's Office since September 2014 as a property clerk at the Stock Island Detention Center.
Sheriff's spokeswoman Becky Herrin said Silva's employment is under review because of the arrest.
