DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. – The mother of a man who was struck by a pickup truck in Pompano Beach on Christmas Eve isn't forgiving of whoever injured her son.
Robert Games remained in a medically induced coma Wednesday at Broward Health North with his mother by his bedside.
"He just didn't deserve this," Joan Games said. "It's just not right."
Her 43-year-old son has multiple fractured bones, including his pelvis, and doctors believe his spine may also be injured.
Broward Sheriff's Office detectives said the pest control technician was stopped on his motorcycle at a red light on North Federal Highway when a Chevrolet pickup truck struck him from behind and kept driving.
"I mean, how can you go and hit somebody, see them laying on the ground and then just take off and leave them like that?" Joan Games said. "I don't understand it. None of us do."
Games' boss, Paul McGee, said it's a tragedy "knowing that this guy is waking up every day while Rob is laying up here in the hospital."
Joan Games had a message for the person responsible.
"I don't forgive you," she said. "I don't. God help you because if they get you, I hope you get the worst."
Detectives said the truck that struck Games was a black or dark blue 2001 to 2006 Chevrolet pickup truck with a partial license plate number of "IB7" or "1B7."
