Motorcyclist dies after jumping curb, driving through Parkland roundabout

Homicide investigators looking into incident

PARKLAND, Fla. – A Boca Raton man died on Friday night after he jumped a curb and went through a roundabout in Parkland, the Broward Sheriff's Office said. 

Michael Desimone, 55, was driving his Harley-Davidson at about 10:40 p.m. heading eastbound on Holmberg Road when he drove over a raised curb and exited back onto the roadway, deputies said. 

The incident caused him to be thrown from the bike, deputies said. 

Desimone was taken to Broward Health North where he was declared dead. 

Homicide investigators are looking into why Desimone didn't maneuver around the intersection.
