New Quinnipiac poll shows Charlie Crist has lead over Gov. Rick Scott

Crist scores 43 percent while Scott scores 40 percent

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – A new Quinnipiac University poll shows Charlie Crist has the lead in the 2014 race for Florida governor.

The Republican-turned-Democrat former governor scored 43 percent among likely voters, while current Gov. Rick Scott scored 40 percent.

A poll released Oct. 22 showed Crist and Scott were tied at 42 percent.

Libertarian candidate Adrian Wyllie has 8 percent, while 9 percent are undecided.

The poll cites independent voters as the reason for Crist's new lead.
