Moffett will replace former Chief Charles Hurley, who resigned in February after allegations of sexual harassment that were later cleared by district investigators.
Moffett worked previously for the Miami-Dade School Police Department for 15 years in various management positions.
During the Wednesday meeting, the board will review the superintendent's annual recommendations to realign and reorganize staff, principals and vice principals.
