2-month-old baby found dead at Broward County home

Neighbors: Baby accidentally suffocated while sleeping with father

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – A 2-month-old baby was found dead Monday in unincorporated Broward County, authorities said.

BSO spokeswoman Gina Carter said the infant was found dead in a home at 2791 NW 15th Court just after 10 a.m.

Homicide detectives were called to the home to investigate the circumstances leading up to the baby's death.

Local 10 News reporter Glenna Milberg was told at the scene that the baby was found on a bed. Neighbors told her that the father accidentally fell asleep on the baby, suffocating the infant.

Authorities said there are several other children who live at the home. A case worker with BSO's Child Protective Investigations Section was at the home Monday afternoon speaking with the family.

Carter said the investigation is ongoing and it's unclear whether charges will be filed against anyone.
