Fight at nightclub leads to officer-involved shooting

2 people stabbed during fight

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Police say an officer was forced to fire after trying to break up a fight that ended in a stabbing in northwest Miami-Dade County.

It happened Sunday morning at El Romance night club at 3451 NW 36th St.

Two people were stabbed during the fight.

Police say an officer was driving by during the incident and was flagged down.

They say shots were fired when the officer was directed to a man.

There's no word yet on why the officer was forced to fire.

The mother of the man shot says the officer had no reason to shoot her son because he didn't do anything.

All three people injured are recovering at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Their conditions and identities are not being released at this time.

The officer was not hurt.
