"Once Upon A Time" star visits Local 10 studios

Bailee Madison explains her work with a cancer research charity

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – South Florida native and "Once Upon A Time" star Bailee Madison visited the Local 10 studios Sunday. She filled Neki Mohan and Todd Tongen in on her life as a television star and philanthropist.

Madison, 13, plays young Snow White on the drama that airs every Sunday night on Local 10. In addition to acting, she is also the national spokesperson for Alex's Lemonade Stand, an organization that raises money and awareness of childhood cancer causes.

Alex Scott was a toddler when she was diagnosed with cancer. At age four, she began holding lemonade stands to raise money to help other children with similar diseases. Though she died at age eight, her message lives on.

Madison is hoping to spread that message by encouraging others to hold their own lemonade stands.

"You're never too young to make a difference," she said. "Come outside, give back during the summer, raise some money for pediatric research."

The organization is holding its National Lemonade Days event June 7-9 and Madison says she hopes South Floridians will get involved this year.

"I really do believe that if we come together, we can make a difference," said Madison.

Madison is spending a few days at home with her sister, who just had a baby, before she heads to Perry Sound, Ontario to star in her next project.

You can watch the South Florida native every Sunday night on "Once Upon A Time," at 8 pm on Local 10.
