Parents fear for children's safety after footage captured of classroom fight

2 boys fight over cellphone during class

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Two students are facing disciplinary action after getting into a brawl in the middle of class at Coral Glades High School this week.

Cellphone video shows the teacher pleading with the two boys, who were apparently fighting over a cellphone, to stop.

"It's not worth it," she said to them before they started swinging at each other.

The teacher eventually steps out the way to call administrators for help.

The video shows the boys slam each other on the ground before school officials separate them and take them away.

Students told Local 10 News reporter Neki Mohan that fights at school happen all the time, which is why one mother said she worries for her daughter.

"She's scared, but, you know, it's everywhere, no matter what school they go to, but it's just more and more," she said. "I don't understand these kids these days."

Recent cellphone footage also showed a fight at Coral Springs High School, where two boys fought near the football field while they were evacuated because of a power outage.

Parents are concerned, saying these videos put them face to face with the problem, and leave them to question whether their children are safe in school.

"It's hard when the teachers can't get control," one parent, Cindy Fox, said. "I mean, the kids these days -- respect just isn't there for the teachers or each other."
