Pedestrian dies after hit-and-run in Fort Lauderdale

Miguel Soler, 58, dies at Broward Health Medical Center

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A 58-year-old man died Saturday afternoon after a hit-and-run in Fort Lauderdale, police said.

Miguel Soler, a New Jersey resident, was struck at about 6:36 p.m. while standing next to his vehicle in the 2900 block of East Las Olas Boulevard.

Soler and his vehicle were struck by a vehicle that was traveling westbound, police said.

The driver left the scene.

Soler was taken to Broward Health Medical Center, where he later died.

Police located the vehicle that hit Soler in the 300 block of Tarpon Drive.

The investigation remains ongoing.
