David Brener left mall in mother's vehicle, police say

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. ā€“ The Pembroke Pines Police Department is asking for the public's help in finding a 20-year-old man with several mental health illnesses.

David Brener was last seen leaving the Pembroke Lakes Mall in a 2010 blue Hyundai Sonata with the Florida tag CYEL49, police said.

Police responded around 2:50 p.m. Saturday to a call at the Pembroke Lakes Mall about a missing person.

Police said the initial investigation revealed that on Friday, the missing person, identified as Brener, was with his mother at the mall, her place of employment.

While at the mall, Brener removed the keys to his mother's vehicle from her purse and left in her vehicle, police said.

Police said Brener has several mental health illnesses, and he does not have his medication. He is believed to be a risk to his own safety.

Anyone who sees Brener is asked to call police.
