MIAMI – A pickup truck collided with a school bus at a Miami intersection Wednesday morning.
The collision occurred at North Miami Avenue and 60th Terrace.
Miami Department of Fire-Rescue Capt. Ignatius Carroll said the bus was traveling westbound on 60th Terrace and the truck was traveling north on North Miami Avenue when the two collided.
The impact caused the truck to burst into flames.
Carroll said the driver of the truck was pulled out of the vehicle by good Samaritans before the truck caught fire. The driver was taken to a hospital. The driver's condition wasn't immediately known.
The 34-year-old bus driver was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center after complaining of head and neck pain.
There were also three middle school students and an attendant on the Miami-Dade County school bus at the time. They were treated at the scene and placed on a new school bus to continue on to Jose Diego Middle School.
