Pilot caught with 'sadistic' child pornography may get a plea deal

CHRISTOPHER HOLMES

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A veteran AmericanAirlines pilot who federal agents said expressed a desire to rape, torture and kill children is trying to get a plea deal. He appeared in court in Fort Lauderdale Wednesday, his attorney said.

Christopher Holmes, now suspended from AmericanAirlines, was arrested Aug. 23 on child pornography charges. Federal agents confiscated his laptop at an airport in Dallas Aug. 16. Some of the content included a photo of a girl hanging upside down with a marker in her vagina.

The Wilton Manors man also had a  photo of a child -- appearing to have been tortured, murdered and then covered in feces. The caption on the photo: "This novel way of spitting a meat animal requires that you wire in appendages to the spit before placing it over the coals."

His attorney Mike Dutko said Holmes, 56, was in federal court in Fort Lauderdale  Wednesday morning.

"It may be moving in the direction of a negotiated resolution," Dutko said about talks with federal prosecutors.

Some of the evidence in the case against him includes Yahoo messenger chat logs from June 6, 2007, through Jan. 7, 2010 that agents described as "sadistic and violent." Some of his fantasies included a school massacre.
