Police: Armed man steals car, robs store

MIAMI – Police are asking for the public's help in finding a man accused of carjacking a woman at knifepoint before robbing a dollar store.

It happened on Dec. 13, 2012 at about 9:20 p.m. The Miami Police Department said it learned a woman was robbed at 6709 West Flagler Street. According to authorities, the woman was putting her groceries in her vehicle when a man with a knife demanded her keys.

The victim told police he quickly fled the scene in her 2007 blue Chrysler Pacifica.

Police said they received another robbery call moments later at the Deal Dollar Store at 7097 Southwest 8th Street. A man matching the description of the previous suspect entered the store, jumped over the counter and demanded money at knife point, police said.

The employees of the store gave the suspect the money before he fled in the blue Chrysler Pacifica, police said.

Investigators described the man as 30- to 40-years-old, 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall, and 200 pounds. Police said he was last seen wearing a black jacket, white hat, dark sunglasses, and armed with a large kitchen knife.
