Hollywood Police: Leonard Carr shoots, kills Corey Miller; Joshua Stuart charged

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Police identified the man who was shot and killed by a gas station clerk during an attempted robbery.

Corey Miller and Joshua Stuart tried robbing the clerk at the Exxon gas station off S.R. 7, near the Seminole Hard Rock Casino, just before midnight Tuesday, say police.

Hasib Kuric saw the two donning masks and ran inside to warn Leonard Carr, the clerk, say police. When Miller, 23, and Stuart, 19, followed Kuric inside, they began firing at him and Carr.

Carr shot and killed Miller, say police. Stuart ran off but was later arrested. He is charged with two counts of second-degree Attempted Felony Murder, one count of second-degree Felony Murder, and one count of Armed Occupied Burglary.

Miller has previous arrests for burglary, robbery, and theft, say police.

Carr and Kuric were not injured.
