Police investigate after person stabbed in North Miami

Victim taken to hospital

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. – Police are investigating after one person was stabbed Tuesday morning in North Miami.

It happened at an apartment complex off Northeast 121st Street and Northwest 16th Avenue.

Neighbors told Local 10 News reporter Ben Kennedy that the incident started as an armed carjacking, but detectives have not confirmed their claims.

"They (property manager) did send out a letter warning residents to be careful and to keep an eye on their things, but security usually does a great job, so it's very disheartening," one resident said.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said the victim was taken to a hospital.

The name and condition of the victim have not been released.

No arrests have been made.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
