Police investigate possible shooting in Miami Gardens

Man handcuffed on ground outside gas station

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Police are investigating after shots were reportedly fired in Miami Gardens, a few blocks from Carol City High School.

Sky 10 was in the air as a man could be seen handcuffed on the ground outside a Victory gas station at the corner of Miami Gardens Drive and Northwest 32nd Avenue.

Police could be seen searching the ground outside One Stop Food, and a shoe was also seen in the middle of the street.

Police said although the call came in as a shooting, when officers arrived no victim was found. However the man handcuffed was taken to the police department for questioning.

Carol City High School was not placed on lock down, as school was already out for the day when the 911 call came in.

Police cordoned off a large area near Miami Gardens Drive during the investigation, and stopped people in the area to see if anyone saw or heard anything.

The Victory gas station has been the scene of several shootings in the past. In the most recent case, two Carol City students were among three teenagers who were shot at the gas station in October 2011. A man confessed in that incident.
